My first backpacking trip in Germany
My first trip carrying film cameras only
India trip in February 2014 changed my whole life and inspired me to think if I should do a solo trip with my cameras. In October 2014, I finally travelled alone to Germany with two film cameras and try to document what I see during my trip. I flew all the way from Hong Kong to Frankfurt. After spending 5 hours on the train, I arrived in this amazing city and spent 3 days here. And Berlin was the first city on that trip.
I rented an Airbnb near Pergamonmuseum and walked around on foot most of the time. Sachsenhausen was the concentration camp that I visited, it was full of the silence of absence and lost years. I wasn’t expecting much in this trip because 1 year before it I sold all of my cameras and decided to stop photographing. But because of this trip, it rejuvenated my soul and kept me doing more street snaps and knowing what kind of shots I like.
During this trip, I brought Leica M2 and two lenses. Summicron 35mm f2 V1 (8 elements) and Summilux 50mm f1.4 V2 as well as the Hasselblad Xpan with 45mm f4.
I have selected my favourite 15 shots taken in this City.
