“I acquired this camera a couple of months after I started shooting film.  After getting comfortable with my dad’s Olympus OM-1 I wanted to expand my collection and started researching and learning about the ocean of film cameras. I remember coming across a photo of this camera from the top-down, and I said to myself, this is the sexiest looking set of text/markings on a camera. I found a relatively cheap copy and was off to the races.

An aperture-prioty-only rangefinder, one would think it’s limiting, but for some reason I found it freeing. I could simply focus and shoot the streets. Did I mention the camera was good looking? I admit I’m shallow, but one of the best things about this camera is how much I enjoyed strolling the streets with it. It made me feel good just carrying it around.

I have better performing cameras, with better lenses (although this Yashinon 45mm f/1.7 fixed lens is beautiful), but I realized film photography is never about perfection and techniques, it’s about a feeling. If you love a camera, you’ll enjoy taking it out and you’ll be in your element when shooting, I believe that will yield better shots.” – Enoch
